Tim:
Thanks for sharing your Mayo connections. I found this 2016 McGeever message which may be of interest. https://irelandxo.com/ireland/mayo/meelick/message-board/mcgeeverboland-families
FYI. You may want to mention the names of your grandparents and their parents.
Roger McDonnell
OK Thanks very much, Roger; grandpa was Anthony McGeever from Oldcastle, Meelick, Swinford and his parents James McGeever and Catherine née O'Neill.
Nan was Catherine Theresa née Nolan, her parents James Nolan and Bridget née Doohan from Derryronan.
:)
Tim,
To assist volunteers. I found on RootsIreland (paid Subscription), a Patrick McGeever born in 1923 in Oldcastle to James McGeever and Catherine O'Neill. Is this Anthony's brother?
Dates would be helpful. About when did Catherine and Anthony get married? Where? When was Catherine born?
Regards- Mary
Tim,
Per Irishgenealogy - (Free Subscription) Welcome to Irish Genealogy - Irish Genealogy, Civil Records, James McGeever married Catherine O'Neill in 1922 in Swinford. 5319127.pdf
James Nolan and Bridget Doohan were married in Swinford in 1923 5311865.pdf
I suggest you use Irishgenealogy to further your research.

Yes that's him: any further info and ancestry of him and nan?
There is an O’Neill heritage project headed by Sean O’Neill (to whom I am distantly related), who is from the O’Neill branch in County Mayo, and whose email address is sean@oneill.ie (he has told me that he does not mind me giving out that address). His family comes from near Swineford/Swinford, where a number of O’Neill’s relocated during the Plantation of Ulster in the 17th Century, but his research also covers Ulster and other parts of Ireland, so he might be able to help you locate more information about your O'Neill ancestors.
The Catholic parish records for Swineford (also called Kilconduff) go back further than in most parts of East Mayo, so if you want to try looking there, they are available at this link: https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0133
Tim,
In 2019 Swinford celebrated their 250 anniversary and were interested in connecting with families that had moved away.. You might contact their chambers of commerce or local church Swinford Parish, Mayo - Our Lady Help of Christians, Swinford, Ireland to see if they can provide you any info.
