I located a 1911 census record which could be your grandfather and his family. I looked for a civil marriage index record but was unsuccessful. Did they marry in England?

My great grandfather John Mcgeever, was born around 1845 near Swinford. He migrated to Connecticut around 1870. I have not found many birth records in the 1840's. Have you discovered any resources from that time period?

The RC parish of Swinford (KIlconduff) has baptismal records back to 1822 but there is a 15 year gap period from 1826-1841 where there are no records available. So if your John McGeever was born earlier than 1845 then maybe the baptismal record is not available. Also, some of the nearby parishes have records starting later than 1845.
