Bridget (Jennings) Wynn(e)

MayoKilmoremoy (Mayo)

My GG-Grandparents, James Wynn & Bridget Jennings were married in Co. Sligo in 1853, shortly before they emmigrated for Pennsylvania.

The best match I've found for Bridget is that she was born in 1831 in Ardnaree, Co. Mayo, Kilmoremoy parish. This might not be the right person, but is consistent with her birth estimates from the census & her grave marker (1830 - 1835).

Is there anyone with local knowledge who might be able to point me to something to substantiate (or correct) this?

Thanks,
Bob Faulkner.

Hi Bob. You mention that they were married in Sligo, do you know where? Before 1898, some of the areas around Ballina were still in Sligo. Have you looked at Griffiths Valuation to see if you can find James Wynn on it - as it was a head of household survey. I couldn't see any James Wynn(e) around Ballina (Kilmoremoy parish).  You may want to look here:

They were married in Skreen & Dromard parish.

I don't know if this Bridget from Ardnaree is the same Bridget who married James Wynn in Skreen & Dromard parish in 1853.  I only know the name and birthdate match what other information I have about her.  It's not so far from Ardnaree, which is on the Co. Sligo border, so, still more to tease out to find out the right Bridget Jennings.

Thanks,
Bob
