Civil registration did not start until 1864, so we have to try & fill the gaps from your date 'til then.

On tithe applotments in 1828 there is still a James see this link

I searched familysearch.org (free site) for a death info for James but did not find anything that I was sure of, perhaps you might be able to spend more time on it. I suggest that you look for the younger mens deaths as 1864 may be too late for their marraiges, if you can find any that match, i would suggest that you apply for those death certs, you should be able to order the microfilm through the family search centres(latter day saints) using the information that comes up.  On death certs you will get the informant & if it is a son, start again & look for his details, as a rule you can estimate 30 years age gap between father & son, try this & see what you can come up with.  You can also subscribe to Ancestry.com or Findmypast, go for the worldwide options & they offer some free time initially & rootsireland are currently offering 100 free searches for St Patrick's Weekend.  

 

 

What was his wifes maiden name?  Do you know Thomas or Owens wives maiden names

I looked at Nationalarchives.ie ( free site) for 1901 & 1911 & there were a lot of Fitzpatricks, I am not too sure of the townland of Urney.

 

Have you looked at the ellis Island site & castlegarden.org on these you may find them or more family that they may have brought over even the next generation.

Hi Rohan, work from what you know, also look at younger siblings of his line & seek out all your cousins no matter what distance they are from you, someone may have the info already put together & if you can afford to take out subscriptions with Ancestry/find my past take the world wide subscription, but be careful...dont select who you think may be family, verify all the information I have found family trees hijacking my information & when I ask how are they related to my relations, they just dont know, look at the original of the documents as I have found that transcribers may misunderstand a word or a place which can put you off, if you need any other hints or directions, let me know..
