EDWARD MCHALE born circa 1817 associated with Backs Parish as son Peter was baptised in Toneybane R.C. Church, Knockmore, Backs Parish, Co. Mayo in 1844 record names parents as Ned McHale and Margaret McNulty.

Parents of Edward McHale not known but he had siblings named Bridget, Peter, John and Owen, plus Kitty/Catherine McHale may also have been an elder sibling or his mother.

The extended McHale family named above left Ireland between 1844 and 1845 and settled in Wrexham, then part of Denbighshire, North Wales, where they joined Margaret McNultys parents and siblings who had settled there a couple of years earlier. Six further children were born in Wrexham to Edward McHale and Margaret McNulty, and descendants still live in the Wrexham area today. Edward and his brothers were Shoemakers.
