My maternal grandmother Katherine Gillespie came from Brackwansha in the Catholic Parish of Backs

She emigrated from Queenstown 28 Sept 1898 on the SS Majestic to NY and then traveled to San Francisco, CA where her oldest brother John had emigrated. She was later followed by one of her sisters and one of her brothers- Nora and James. All 4 were in San Francisco. I have found 12 children including Katherine born to her parents Patrick Gillespie 1841-1918 and Kathryn Coyne 1840-1911. ( married in the RomanCatholic Church of Knockmore 19 April 1864) The others were in birth order: Mary, John J, Ellen, Patrick, Kate, Michael, Thomas, Katherine, James, Honora (Nora), Anthony, Edward. Mary, Ellen and the first Kate definitely died early.
