Molloy and golding

Ballinrobe (Mayo)

Hi I'm looking for information on my ancestors Edward Molloy (mulloy) who married Bridget Golding in ballinrobe 1864. Edward was born around 1841 and Bridget around 1844.

They both moved and died in Liverpool Edward 1912 and Bridget 1906.

I know by wills they both received money from her uncle Thomas Sheridan after he died in 1896 and lived in glebe street ballina

Kind regards

James

James,

Per Ancestry, Edward and Bridget had at least 8 children. 3 born in Ballinrobe: Mary, 1862, Thomas 1863, Ellen 1866 and 5 born in Lancashire, England: William1871, Edward 1873, Michael 1875, Patrick 1880, Mary 1883

James, I just noticed you have a tree on Ancestry with info on Edward and Bridget minus their parents. I checked Thomas' will. He died in 1893, fishmonger, bachelor, on Glebe Street, Ballinrobe, Mayo. The will was processed in Ballina. On Irishgenealogy (free website) Welcome to Irish Genealogy - Irish Genealogy Civil records, I found Thomas Sheridan died in 1893 in Ballinrobe Glebe Street, age 78, bachelor, fish dealer, witness Bridget McDonnell niece. 4701199.pdf

Do you know if Sheridan is Bridget's mother's surname?

James:

The subscription site Roots Ireland has an April 16th 1861 marriage record for Edward Mulloy and Bridget Golding. The marriage occurred at the Ballinrobe RC church.

Baptismal records for Ballinrobe church start as of August 20 1843. I did not find a baptismal record for either Edward or Bridget at the Ballinrobe church so likely they were born and baptized before August 20 1843.

James,

Some websites that include businesses on Glebe Street. Note the Donnellan name shows up. I wonder if Bridget McDonnell, witness to Thomas Shepherd death, actual last name is Donnellan. It could be her surname or married name.

Hi James,

I'm a direct descendant of Edward, we have lived in Liverpool ever since! Edward was my great, great grandfather. It would be good to get in touch!

Regards
