Flanigan/Flanagan family Parks Townland, Ardee Bog

Searching for relatives of Christopher Flanagan and Anne Malone, married in 1833 in Ardee in the hope of connections to earlier ancestors. Sponsors of their children included the following surnames: Moran, Skelly, Malone, Doherty, Kirwan, Crolly, Reilly. Their children were (with baptism dates) Thomas (1833), William (1835), Patt (1840), Mary (1842), John (1844), and Anne (1847). Children William, Mary, and Anne went to New York City. WIlliam married Julia Trainor and moved to Marcus, Iowa, and had 9 children.. Mary married John Quinn and had two children in Ardee, but in in 1867 was living in New York City, USA with three children and may have had another. Anne was married in 1882 in New York City and had one child. Anne died young but her daughter had 4 children whose descendants all live in the USA. The descendants of William and Anne have been well documented in Ancestry.com, but descendants of the other children have not. I have not found a map that shows "Parks", or "Bog" in Ardee. With thanks to my Flanagan cousins for this information, I seek any further guidance on these ancestors.

You are looking for a map with Parks on. I think that's Town Parks.

The tithe applotment records list Christopher Flanagan in Townparks in 1830. He had just under 6 acres of land.

Griffiths Valuation for 1854 also lists him on plots 74 & 75 in the same townland. His house and five and a half acres of land was on plot 74 and plot 75 was turbary (turf cutting land). You can see where that was on the Griffiths maps. It was a mile or so west of Ardee, a little past the Ardee Precast Concrete premises. 74 was a very narrow strip of land and I’d say you would need a fair bit patience or a surveyor to work out exactly where it was today.

THANK YOU.  I have searched Griffiths but been unable to locate the Flanigans and Malones.  Here you've found them next door to each other.  I couldn't have located these without your help.  I appreciate it.    Dorothy
