William Curran and Catherine Dignan

LongfordKilloe (Longford)

William Curran, 1848-1890, and Catherine Dignan, Duignan, 1844-1891 were the parents of my grandmother.  They seem to have lived all around Longford, but Drumlish, Cloonelly, Annagh are mentioned most ofter.  Their marriage was in a RC church in Leggagh in October 1868.  Of their children, only Charles Curran, 1872 - 1953, remained in Ireland.  The others all emigrated to the U.S.  I'm visiting Ireland soon, and I would love to know where they (and Charles) lived, and what their lives were like.

Eileen,

Attached a record of the mariage of William Curran and Catherine Duignan in 1868.

Subscription site  www.rootsireland.ie has a record of children born to this couple, including twins, Patrick & Rose 1889.

Both lived in the Civil parish of Killoe. The children are recorded as having been baptised in the parish od Dromard - 10 recorded, starting with Mary in 1868.

William's father - Charles - is recorded as a farmer. William is recorded as having died in 1891, aged 55 years. He is recorded as farmer and the address Annagh, Drumlish.

You should be able to get the records on free site  - catholicparishregisters@nli.ie  - National Library

Regards,

McCoy
