Jenni,
Attached is the 1911 census showing Pat living with his parents Thomas and Bridget and sister Mary E. in the town land of Cloon and Commons (same as in your death record)...not sure if you have this record. It also shows his mother gave birth to 10 children, and 5 were alive at the census time.
Also attached is Patrick's birth record...19 Mar 1892. His mother's surname is also Ryan.
Regards,
The son Patrick was arrested the day after the incident and was in goal up to his trial in December 1912, the case is noted in the Nenagh News newspaper on the 14th and described as "The Castleconnell Manslaughter" - after hearing the details on the case the judge noted the incident as "more or less self-defence", Patrick was then discharged - see article below (Nenagh News 14th December 1912, page3, IrishNewsArchive)
The family appear on the 1911 census at the same townland listed as place of death for Thomas - Cloon and Commons, and shows Patrick's age as 20 and place of birth as 'Limerick'
