John James Gallagher b.1855

 Sometimes some of a message is missing on the message board-

"Hello, I am looking for any information or advice on researching my great-great grandfather John James Gallagher. Born 1855 Limerick to I believe John Gallaher and Mary Riordan. He left Ireland in about 1875 with his brother Cornelius Gallagher (b. 1857). Cornelius stayed in London while John James went on to Chicago and lived with his brother Daniel Gallagher (b. 1849). 

I am curious if there is any way to find where in Limerick he may have come from and if there were any other siblings. I have done my DNA but have hit a roadblock in my research on Ancestry and I'm curious!  Any advice would be great."

Siblings- Joseph 1847, Daniel 1849, James 1850, Mary Ann 1851, and Cornelius 1857.

Thank you so much for your responses and for getting back to me so quickly! I did not realize they were from Limerick City specifically so this is great. Do you have any advice on researching the siblings that may have stayed in Ireland? Or is this just too far in the past.
