Rawleighs of Rawleighstown/ Knockainey
Hi,
I understand my Rawleigh family came from Rawleighstown, Limerick and might have eventually come to Knockainey. Some of the family is buried at Old Knockainey Cemetery. Rawleighstown was part of Cahercorney Parish, which is not listed on Ireland XO. I know Lough Gur is part of Knockainey Parish is Rawleighstown as well? I am trying to find out what happened to the Rawleigh family after Cromwell took over their land during his siege (1649-1652) and gave it to the Croker family. Any suggestions where I might find information.
Also, in a history book I found the Rawleigh family mentioned as being connected to John Brown, Master of Awney's family. I am trying to find out which of John's daughters (name) married a Raleigh and what his name was. What happened to this couple? It looks like (based on the info below) they had a son James and a grandson Walter?
