im not sure who started looking for fitzgibbons, but i have found a garrett fitzgibbons  1815, that married johanna carmody.  i get conflicting information about the wife, or maybe he was married twice, but i dont swear to that fact.   they had a child born in ireland, then went to u.s. and settled in maine, broome, ny.  dont know if that helps at all.  anything you can verify for me would be cool.  cant get past garrett to his parents, or past carmody t hers.  good luck.    peggy
