Cornelius McAuliffe

Drumcollogher (Limerick)

I am searching for information on Cornelius McAuliffe, my great great grandfather. He was born in Limerick in 1830 and was married to Margaret O’Sullivan Whaley on 5/28/1867 in St. Peter’s Cathedral in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. We think his parents (Florence McAuliffe Margaret Daley) died in Ireland in 1849.

Cornelius may have had 6 siblings.

I will be in Ireland and driving from Kilkenny to The Cliffs of Moher through Limerick on 10/6/26.

There are a number of McAuliffe baptismal records in Dromcollogher RC parish in the 1830s where the father is Florence. However, the spouses names are Johanna Burke, Ellen Cagney and Margaret Shea.

No McAuliffe baptisms in Co. Limerick with parents listed.

Civil registration of deaths started in 1864 and Dromcollogher RC parish does not have death records pre-1864.
