Phil and Sarah Rowles Ryan's 1912-13 Journal of Return to Doon and Pallasgreen
I have just finished etitinga composite of journals and letters by Philip and Sarah (Rowles) Ryan of Belle Creek in Goodhue County, Minnesota, written to their children during a journey to Ireland over Christmas 1912 which they combined with many visits relativesin the eastern United States and Canada on their return journey.
Philip Joseph Ryan was from Pallasgreenand came to America as a young man of 21 years in 1879. Sarah was born in Waupun, Wisconsin, to parents who wereborn in Doon. They later settled in Belle Creek, Goodhue County, Minnesota, where Philip met and married Sarah.Whether Philip knew Sarah's family before he came to America is unknown but likely, since so many other Doon and Pallasgreen people settled in the same community.
I have identified many of the relationships of their relatives and added footnotes and an appendix showing the family trees as far as I have been able to prove them. It is also illustrated so it comes to about 50 pages. It think this would be helpful to family historians, and would like to post it to the Files area if such a large document is welcome. It is less than 4 MB according to WORD.
