Purcell/Dillon families in Bruff

Bruff (Limerick)

Hello! I’m (slowly) building my family tree. My 3rd Great Grandmother’s name was Anastasia Purcell (1844ish-1900) and she immigrated from Ireland to the USA with at least two of her sisters, Margaret and Bridget, somewhere in the 1850s-1860s. On a death certificate for Margaret, I found their parents listed as Stephen Purcell and Mary Dillon. I have located the parents in Limerick, where I have birth records for two other children, John and Ellen in the right time frame. Stephen Purcell was listed as being from Bruff on the marriage record (July 1821).

I’m looking for any information on the Purcell or Dillon families in Bruff! I’d love to fill out the tree and find more records.

Thanks so much!

Katy

Katy,

On RootsIreland (paid subscription) I found 3 of Stephen and Marys' children baptized in Manister, Limerick- Thomas 1832, Ellen 1834, and Margaret 1837. I know you have identified some of their children but there must have been some born between 1821 and 1832. In 1792, there was a Stephen Purcell born in Bruff to James Purcell and Bridget Gleeson. They also had a daughter Bridget in 1790.
