Cudmore lands in Anhid West

Anhid (Limerick)

Hello, I am wondering if anyone is familiar with the lands owned from c1753 to c1890, in succession from Daniel Cudmore bc1698 to Paul b 1737 to Edward b 1759 to Paul b 1785 to James b 1829 and Catherine (his aunt and daughter of Edward). These were meadow lands (ranging in size from c130 acres to 15), some portion of which was called the Inch of Anhid (perhaps called Inch Park by 1890), and which seem to have been eventually gone to the Sisters of Mercy c1890, via Wm Monsell, Lord Emly. James owned a house in Croom as well, and there were associated Cudmore lands in Ballymartin and Lacka, east of Croom. I would most appreciate any information on the precise location of these fields, or on their disposition, or about any Cudmore descendants in and around Croom, Anhid, Patrickswell, or Ballymartin/Lacka. Many thanks. Duane McDonald, Toronto (descendant of James Cudmore who emigrated to NY c 1852).

Hi,  The James Cudmore that you say went to the USA in 1852 was 10years old. He was with a brother, Daniel aged 16 years and a sister Mary aged 7 years.   Is this correct?

The ship was the Guy Mannering.

Thanks, Patricia. Yes, I will try that. All the best.

Thanks, Margot. Those must be different people. My James (W/Webb) Cudmore would have been about age 23, may have been with a Susannah Cudmore, similar in age, a sister, possibly already married to a Patrick Crowley. I have been unable to find them on a manifest, unfortunately.
