I found that Alexander McDonald of Killasnet died in 1855. I hope he is my great great grandmother's grandfather.
Did he have a son Alexander who married Mary (possibly Mitchel)?
Did they have children Michael (ca1840), Anna (1845), Patrick (1850) Mary (1853) and Alexander (1854)?
Possiibly a daughter Bridget (1842 or 1847) who married Feeley?
If I can confirm these are the correct people, I would be so grateful.
Perhaps a way to determine this is to look at the records for the second Alexander (and his siblings) to see what it says about their father.
Their baptismal records would give their parents' names. Civil marriage records in Ireland starting in 1864 give father's name and occupation. Alexander who died in 1855...have you looked to see if there was a will, and if so, who his heirs were?
I hope this is helpful.
Adding to Patricia's suggestions. Per RootsIreland (paid subscription), an Alexander Hamilton died in Killasnet in 1855, but no age was identified which usually means it was an infant death.
I found these records on Irishgenealogy, perhaps connected to the family
