Patrick John Cullen

Inishmagrath (Leitrim)

Hi

Have discovered a bit more information on my great grandfather Patrick Zhongshan Cullen. He was born in 1757 in County Leitrim Ireland and migrated to Sydney/Newcastle late 1800s. He martiedcClara Emma Brooks in Sydney on 13/11/1886. May have been a sailor or railway employee before moving to Western Australia in 1895 I think. His father listed as Patrick JohnCullen farmer. May have lived in Drumkeeran County Leitrim. Might have had another son named John.any further information that might come to light on Irish family;very much appreciated. My kindest regards Ewin Armstrong

Quokka,

There is a gap in the baptism records for the RC parish of Ennismagrath (Inishmagrath, civil) between 1839 and 1881, so there will be no record of him in 1857. I checked the Griffith's Valuation (1857) for the surname Cullen in Drumkeeran, but did not find that name. That doesn't mean his family didn't live there though. Does his 1886 marriage record have any parental information?

Regards,

Carolyn
