I am trying to get details of my great great grandfather. His name is Owen Prior and he was married to Eliza. His son James lived in Carrigallen for most of his life as did my grandfather Eugene.

Can you clarify when Owen was born and when he married Eliza? Were they RC? The 1857 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing only shows a Thomas Prior in Carrigallen parish http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/leitrim/carrigallen.htm

The only death record for an Owen Prior that I can find would make his birth about 1810. I'm not sure if this is the right one though as it says he was a widower but Eliza was still alive. They were RC and I found a marriage record in Cavan for 1855 which I think may be them. Thanks for the reply.
