My Great Great Grandfather was Robert FitzGerald he married a Mary Connor and had several children. My great grandfarther emigrated to Durban South Africa in 1867. He had 3 brothers Edward, John, and Robert as well as sisters Nan, Jessie, Theodora, Eleanor and Geraldine. We do not have a parish liaison in the Rathdowney parish area. I assum e you ancestors were Church of Ireland. Records for the parish go back to the 1700s and are maintained in the Representative Church Library in Dublin. They may also be some records held at the church based on info from another message I worked on.

Finally, please consider adding your ancestors stories to our XO Chronicles site.
