MASON
LaoisRathdowney (Laois)
Hello,
Some of my family were MASON of Rathdowney & nearby parishes in the 1700s. Names include Laurence, Thomas, Caleb,
Hannah, Rebecca.
Hoping for any information at all on this family.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
What denomination were your ancestors? The RC (1763) and Church of Ireland (1756) records go back to the 1700s but only the RC records are on Roots Ireland.

Hi Roger,
I'm pretty sure they were Protestant, as they all married as such. Where I have a marriage. The uncle of my gt.grandfather was a John GEALE. I think his wife was Hannah who is on several records & must have survived him by some years in that case.Another name was OLDFIELD.

Many thanks Roger. It would seem the MASON family has died out in the country.
