Martha McEvoy

LaoisMaryborough (Laois)

Am looking for any details about Martha McEvoy.  She was born 6th July 1843.  She became a Dominican Sister, Sr M. Patrick, 28th May 1871, in Kingstown, and came to Australia in 1875.  She died in Australia aged 98.  Would love to find more about her family and her connections with the Irish Dominicans.

Thanks,

Sr Elizabeth Hellwig OP

Hello Sr. Elizabeth,

I noticed that you posted onto the Laois page and I'm wondering why?  I found two records for a Martha McEvoy in Co. Laois for years 1836 and 1837.   It's difficult when you haven't a parent's name to refine the search.

The place of Kingston (as far as I am aware is Dun Laoghaire, Dublin.  Is this where the novitiate was located?
