I am looking for any ancestors of the chambers family in Clonaslee or surrounding parishes. My great grandad Bernard Chambers was born there around 1820, his brother Daniel baptised in 1825 sons of William & Mary Chambers.I can't find a birth for Bernard but his army records gives the Parish. Bernard then settled later on in Cork City....I have family information from there on.
Minnie:
According to the subscription site Roots Ireland, Daniel was baptized in the parish of Rosenallis which is just to the east of Clonaslee. Baptismal records for Rosenallis start in August 1823 which explains why you can't locate a record for Bernard. Clonaslee records start in 1849.

Thankyou Roger, On my great great granddads army record it said he was born in kilmanman which I assume must come under Rosenallis/Clonaslee? I did visit the area many years ago but sadly didn't get much time to find out anything.
Minnie:
The civil parish which includes Clonaslee is Kilmanman. The parish is located in the northwest corner of Co. Laois.
Roger
Thankyou Roger.
