Loughlin & Doheney family from Urlingford Kilkenny

Urlingford (Kilkenny)

Hi I'm looking for some assistance tracing William Loughlin & William Doheny who are named as the fathers on my GG grandparents marriage record (1869). Both fathers are listed as farmers.  My g grandparents show on records as staying in the Urlingford & Borrismore area.

I am visiting Kilkenny at the end of the month and hope to discover more about them and the area.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

In 1853 in So. Tipperary, the following William Dohenys were heads of household in Griffith's Valuation. Two lived in Graigepadeen, less than a mile from Graigue, the townland where Hanora lived at the time of her marriage.

Thank you Patricia, yes that is the marriage record I have.

I'm sure on one census record Hanora had put that she was born in Tipperary, so those Griffith records are helpful, now I need to see if I can find a census with her as a child....

Ferby,

It's doubtful you will find an early census record for Honora.  There are a couple of birth records for Honora Dohenys in Tipp on rootsireland.  Do you know what her children's names were?  The second son would generally have been named for Honora's father. And the first or second daughter for her mother.

In the 1911 census, Patrick snr states that 7 children were born to the marriage but that 5 are living, so Catherine above died 1897 and Michael also must have died but I did not find a death cert for him.

Just found a marriage cert for Michael    1895
