Hickey, Mills, Murphy

Kilkenny

Hello, I am searching for descendants of sisters Anne,Eliza and Kate Hickey allborn in Kilkenny between1866 -1874; father's name Michael (Mich) Hickey. The sistersmoved to Cork and are on the 1901 and 1911 census. Anne Hickey married Thomas Murphy in Cork in 1905. (Anne's daughter Mary is my maternal grandmother; shewas born in Clonmel in 1893.) Kate married John Valentine Mills and had two daughters: Kathleen Josephine and Georgina Alma.

I will be visiting Ireland this October and will be staying inKilkenny, Clonmel and Cork to research further. I would be grateful if anyone has any information at all to help with my research. Many thanks.Viv Clarke

I responded to your initial message. Are you interested in going back prior to 1866-1874 or just looking for descendants?

I would be very interested in going back prior to those dates but am stuck at the moment. I have my great-grandmother's, (Anne Hickey) marriage certificate in Cork in 1905. I know for definite she is the right person. Her father was Michael Hickey (Michl) and the census for Anne states she was born in Kilkenny.  I can't seem to get further than that. Michael was deceased by1905. I have tried searching for sisters: Anne, Eliza/Elizabeth and Kate Hickey with Michael Hickey as their father in Kilkenny and that has proved difficult.  I cannot buy more certificates until I am certain they are the correct people. It could be that Kate was a cousin?? 

I am interested in filling in a large gap in my Irish family tree and of course if there are definite descendants then I would be delighted to make contact.
