John and Bridget (Forristal) Prendergast from Kilkenny.
I am looking for information about my grand uncle, John Prendergast and his wife, Bridget (Forristal) Prendergast. Particularly about their children and grandchildren.
What I know about John and Bridget so far is the following:
John was born on August 24, 1903, in Thomastown, Inistioge, Kilkenny. His father was Patrick Prendergast who was a farmer and his mother was Julia (Hayden) Prendergast. John was one of five children. His other brothers were William Joseph (my grandfather who emigrated to the United States), Peter who became a Catholic priest and was assigned to the Diocese of Brentwood and Nicholas whom I know nothing about other than he was born on September 29, 1900, he never married and died on December 11, 1965. John had a sister Margaret whom I know nothing about other than she was born On December 4, 1898 and never married. I do not know when Margaret passed away.
I believe John was a farmer and later a retired taxi driver. He passed away on November 9, 1969.
Bridget Forristal was born on December 8, 1902 in Thomastown, Inistioge, Kilkenny. Her father was Richard J Forristal whom I believe was a shopkeeper/baker. Her mother was Anne (Malone) Forristal. I do not know if Bridget had any brothers or sisters. I know nothing else about Richard and Anne.
I believe Bridget passed away on July 16, 1962 at the age of 59 but I am not 100% certain.
John and Bridget were married on August 21, 1929 in Thomastown.
They had two children, John and Paddy. I know nothing about John and little about Paddy other than Paddy married a woman named Clare. I believe John married but I do not know to whom. I do not know when they were born and whether they are still alive or have passed away.
I believe they both had children and likely grandchildren. I know nothing about their children who would be my first cousins in Ireland.
I believe a Marie Prendergast, who owns/owned a bed and breakfast in Mullinavat, Kilkenny, is a relative.
Anyinformation about John and Bridget and their children and grandchildren is very much appreciated.
As is any information about these families of Prendergasts, Haydens, Forristals and Malones.
In the interim, I will continue to research my families in Ireland.
Thank you.
Bill Prendergast
