Can anyone please tell me if there is a connection between the Sutcliffe family of Cloudmount/Clashduff and the Sutcliffe family of Kiltown. James Sutcliffe (1805 - 83)of Cloudmount/Clashduff is my husband's ancestor but I am wondering if John Sutcliffe of Kiltown could be his brother. Church records at RootsIreland are meagre, so I am wondering if anyone out there has James or John in their tree.
Hoping someone searching for the family name too will be in touch with you. Unfortunately as you know the best way to find a link is through a baptism record as births would not be available. Let us know as soon as you learn anything further.
Best wishes

Try the Irish Genealogy site. Thousands of records have been released recently. Found the death of a James Sutcliffe in 1883 in Castlecomer, Kilkenny. Also the birth of a James Sutcliffe in 1883 see attached. If you exclude the first name there are a good deal of Sutcliffe's in Kilkenny and this may be of assistance to you. It has certainly opened doors for me and my ancestors.
