George William Robinson and Sarah Hodgins
Hi,
I am researching my 2nd great grandparents (George William Robinson b. 1821 and Sarah Hodgins b. 1829). I found a marriage record for them on Ancestry (Ireland, Select Marriages 1619-1898)which shows that they married on 24 Dec 1846 in Clane. However, Irecently found another marriage record on Ancestry (Ireland, Civil Registration Marriages 1845-1958)with their names and theiryear of marriage which lists "Naas" as the registration district. On Roots Ireland, I found arecord of baptismfor their first child, Sarah Jane Robinson baptized 26 Aug 1847 in Clane, Kildare. Their religion was Church of Ireland. I couldn't find a baptismal record for their son (and my direct ancestor) George Harper Robinson b. 1848 or one for their daughter Catherine b. 1853.I found one for their son John James Robinson, baptized 19 Nov 1856. It lists his father's occupation asex-constable.
Some time between 1856 and 1859,the family moved to Toronto, Ontario, Canada where their daughter Caroline was born in 1859. George William Robinson was on the Toronto police force in 1860.
I have found a few trees on Ancestry which show that the Hodgins family was from Dublin. Sarah'sparent's names were John Hodgins and Sarah Harper both born around 1808 and died in Toronto. Sarah's brother was William Richard Hodgins b. 1 Mar 1836 d. 2 Jul 1930 Toronto. His death certificate lists his place of birth as Dublin.
I would appreciate any help of suggestions!
