Searching for family roots for grandfather

KerryTralee (Kerry)

Hello! My grandfather's last name is Leen, the son of Maurice Leen and Ellen (Ferris) Leen. Maurice was born in 1906 and came over to America when he was 22. Anyone have connections?

Sarysar:

I located a 1911 census record for a Leen family where the father was Maurice and young Maurice was 6. The mother's name was Mary not Ellen. This family lived in Ballyheigue parish which is to the northwest of Tralee. Is this your family.

I was unable to locate a civil marriage index record for a marriage between Maurice Leen and Ellen Ferris.

I will alert our Tralee Parish Liaison about your message.

Thank you so much for your reply!

Does the report mention any other children?

Hi Roger and Sarysar, this looks like the marriage of Maurice and Margaret Mary

and the baptism of 4 of the children in Ballyheigue RC Parish

What part of the States did Maurice settle in Sarysar? Do let us know.
