O'Connor/Connor Families
I am looking for ancestors and descendants of my great-great-greatgrandparents, James OConnor and Julia Connor. They were probably born in the early 1800s and were Roman Catholics from Tralee or the surrounding area. They had the following children baptized in the Catholic parish of Tralee:
Julia OConnor baptized on 12 July 1826
Jeremiah OConnor baptized on 1 April 1827
Jeremiah married Jane Long in the parish of St. Sepulchre in London, England on 19 December 1848. His father was listed as James OConnor, a laborer and her father was listed as John Long, a boot maker. They had a son, James, born in England in about 1850. Shortly after that, the family left England and settled in the New York City area in the United States. Jeremiah joined a Civil War regiment in March 1865 and was discharged in June 1865 after the war ended. Eventually, Jeremiah and Jane migrated north to Massachusetts and lived in the Springfield area and Boston. Jeremiah died in Boston, MA on 3 November 1874 and Jane died there on 1 October 1917.
Their son, James, married Mary Jane Carnes in Boston on 23 April 1875. They had the following children all born in Boston, MA: Jeremiah (2 August 1875), John J. (13 June 1877), Ellen (30 May 1879), James (16 July 1881), Thomas J. (3 November 1883), Charles Christopher (24 December 1885), George Anthony (18 January 1889), Rose Anna (9 March 1891), and twins William and Elizabeth (6 July 1893).
3. John OConnor baptized on 21 February 1830
4. Michael OConnor baptized on 8 February 1833
5. Honora OConnor baptized on 1 January 1835
6. Thomas OConnor baptized on 14 July 1839
I am interested in any information available including burial locations.
Thank you for reading this post.
