Hi again Mary, 232 returns for Tangney (& variant spellings) in Tralee 1770-1830. Again an unusual name, although it is the family name that is unusual this time. Check familysearch, Griffith's, the Tithe Applotments to see if you get any traction there. If you build a Tangney tree with what is available this may give you possibilities re. your Maurice.
If you are in the States, a death record for Maurice may give his parents' names. Or his sibs records may have this info.
Happy hunting
Martine Brennan
Thank you for your hints, Martine, that should be helpful.
Best, Mary
