Quinlan/Hanlon genealogy

I found the marriage record on Irish Genealogy:

Causeway is a town in the parish of Killury which neighbours Ratoo.

Perhaps Causeway was the nearest church where they could get married?

 

 

Also, Civil registration began in Ireland in 1864. This means that if James and Johanna did remain in Ireland and died here there would be a record of it in civil records. . Civil records are available from the General Register?s Office in Dublin. Here is their website:

You could also try searching for record of their burial at:

Have you tried searching for them or any other Quinlans in the 1901/1911 census records? http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/

Hi Fred?

I was browsing on the Rattoo site and noticed your message. My mother was a Hanlon and I believe Johanna may be my mum's gggrandfathers daughter (who was Gobinet Burns). I'd be interested in Johanna's emigration and story in the USA if you have any further details. I'll check to see if my instinct is right but I remember the Quinlan name coming up previously.

I've just checked the Kerry records and only local birth of James Quinlan and Joanna (Burns) is James Quinlan of Acres on 1/2/1880 witness Michael Hanlon so I guess they must have been in Kerry in 1880 at least. If you are interested I could list up Joanna's mum and dad's family.
