Hi Joan and many thanks
I have attached some additional records. I have another research report I commissioned by a Kerry researcher (Kay Caball) that I will attach later (even zip-compressed it is too large to attach at the moment). The records are incomplete and I suspect Patrick Slattery senior and Ellen Daly had more children. I am fairly adept at DNA genealogy and have isolated quite a few Slattery matches, but the limited records has made it difficult to reconstruct the family with certainty. I am confident that one additional child was Catherine 'Kit' Prendiville, nee Slattery (see attached documents). I have very little information on Thade/Timothy. I have found a possible candidate in the 1853 Griffiths Valuation at Ballinorig, and another who died in 1871 in Tralee (about the right age), As for Ellen, I have nothing solid. An Ellen Slattery who married John Flanagan in 1852 in Lowell, Massachussets, is a possibility. I will send through the more detailed research report as soon as I've figured out how to compress to less than 2MB. I'll also complete the meet and greet form. My wife and I will be in Cork and Kerry from 6-9 October, and I had planned to be in Castleisland and surrounds on Tuesday 7 October 2025. I have established a private Facebook group for the Slattery descendants in Western Australia in which I both share and gather information. You or your prospective descendant are welcome to join if that helps in any way. It includes all the images we have located of Patrick Slattery. https://www.facebook.com/groups/948321365628319
Just as a side note, in the late 1850s Patrick was one of the convicts/ticket-of-leave men who built the State heritage listed RC Church of the Immaculate Conception in Dardanup, Western Australia, where he lived. Descendants - including me - organised a major refurbishment in 2020. Now deconsecrated and known as the Thomas Little Memorial Hall, the completion event was attended by the Deputy Ambassador of Ireland who addressed the audience in Gaelic. It was quite a moment!
Thanks so much, Darren Foster
