Info on John Lynch, his wife, Margaret Tobin from Annascaul

Before I ask for assistance, I want to thank all of the kind volunteers who make this such a wonderful site! I have known about the site for a while, but only recently began to realize what a wealth of information it provides on Ireland and Irish ancestry. 

On to the begging! 

I am looking for information about my ancestors John Lynch and his wife, Margaret Tobin who most likely lived in Annascaul or nearby. I believe both John and Margaret lived and died in Ireland

John and Margaret had 7 children:

  • Edward (1820-1911) - Edward is my great, great, grandfather and he was born in Annascaul and eventually immigrated to Northampton, Massachusetts, USA with his son, Daniel.

In 2011, another Lynch descendant provided me with some information from a researcher in Ireland. I believe the researcher in Ireland was a priest with the surname Lynch.

The email (see attachment) states that John Lynch was married to Margaret Forhan (not Tobin).

Perhaps, it was written wrong at some point. I have noticed on Ancestry DNA, I am related to lots of Tobins and no Forhans.

The baptism and marriage records for the RC parish of Annascaul (aka Ballanvohir) begin in 1829, and there are gaps in the records from there on. Here are the available baptism date records: 1829-1834, 1837-1839, and 1851-1880. So if John and Margaret's children were born during those years, you will find the records on the free site irishgenealogy.ie under the church records tab. I did a quick search for them for the first two time periods, but did not locate any records with those parents' names.
