Hoping to learn about Winifred Lynch from Kilgarvan

Kerry

Hello, I am planning on visiting Kilgarvan next month and hope to learn something about my great grandmother Winifred Lynch. I believe she was born 22 March 1839 to Daniel Lynch and Ellen Sullivan.  She married John Taehan 18 Feb 1859 in Kilgarvan.  She had two children with him Mary and Cornelius. I believe John was born 01 Jan 1833 in Coologes to Silvester Sullivan and Maria McCarthy. Silvester might have been born in 1810. I have a marriage record for Silvester and Maria dated Feb 1827.  I have baptism records for John Sullivan and Winifred Lynch, a marriage record for ellen sullivan and Daniel Lynch, a marriage record for Winifred Lynch and John Taehan and baptism records for Cornelius and Mary Taehan from Irish Generalogy.

Winifred Immigrated to America and married John J Sullivan on 18 July 1869 In Hoboken NJ.  Her marriage record indicated she was a widow. She had several Children with Mr. Sullivan including my grandmother Elizabeth.

I have a photo that may be of Winifred Lynch and John Sullivan that was sent to me by a distant cousin I found on Ancestry who, sadly, has since passed. She really wasn't sure who it was.I tried to attach it but got a validation error.  Ideally I would love to connect with any relatives who may still be in Kilgarvan but even learning anything more about her would be wonderful.

RootsIreland gives baptismal info for the following siblings of Winifred. Some of these lived in the townland of "Milleenathaguil ," which likely refers to Millerantaggle, a subtownland in the townland of Creggeen, which borders on Caher.

Wow. Thanks  Patricia for all this info.  I'm planning on making my plane reservations today (air lingus is having a sale) .I remember seeing Caher. Funny my family always thought my great grandmother was saying "Clare" so when I started researching I looked in County Clare for the longest time.  I'm looking forward to visiting Kilgarvan and seeing what I can learn. Maybe there will be some distant cousins since it looks like Winifred had several siblings.

One more question. What does it mean when there are two names mentioned for the same year   John and Ellen both have two mentions.  I wonder if the first John from 1840 passed so they reused the name in 184

this site is great.
