Stack of Lixnaw

KerryListowel (Kerry)

Greetings from sunny Queensland.

I am researching the Stack family from Pallas/Lixnaw.

I haven't seen a parish listed for Lixnaw so am hoping that it comes under the Listowel parish.

Thomas Stack born at Pallas on the 7th February 1858 is my great grandfather. (Yes that means that I am old!)

Thomas Stack emigrated to Australia some time around 1870/1875.

I am interested in any information about the family.

Kind regards and have a nice day,

Michaela

Hi Michaela,

Thank you again for your message. Lixnaw is a Catholic parish in Kerry. However at the moment our website mainly uses the civil parish divisions as this is what is reflected in most historical documents. Here is a map of the Catholic parishes in Kerry:

Here is a map of the civil parishes:

This link will show you what civil parishes fall under the RC parish of Lixnaw:

Please see your earlier message on the Kilfeighny parish page for some resources that may be helpful in your research:

Hi Michaela

This group has 300 members form around the world, most of whom have a Stack ancestor. It is a great source of nfromation on the Stack history and genealogy. We have many members from Australia and many of us went to the Stack Clan Gathering in July this year, in Listowel and roundabout. You are very welcome to join us

Hi The Stack family,

My grandmother was a Margaret (Madge) Stack born 3/3/1881 to William Stack and

Margaret Dillon (Dillane?). I mention this because my G Grandfather and mother were married in Lixnaw.

They were John Hanlon and Margaret Halloran married in 1867. This may link with an earler post in this

thread.
