I could not locate a marriage record but likely occurred in 1839. I found six baptismal records for children of John and Catherine. Is it possible that either John or Michael went by Peter. I don't see any Peter Donohue baptismal records in the area.

Thank you so much for you're quick reply ,never thought about Peter having another name ,he is listed as born in 1844 the same year as Bridget ,not impossible but that's what made me doubt his parentage .

Is it common to change the Christian name after the move to another country and what is your opinion on John being Peters real father or will we never know ?

If John or Michael were Peter in Bradford there is a discrepancy on his age given on the 1861 census ,thanks again it's great you are volunteering and helping people trace their roots

Kevin:

I don't think you will know for sure if John is the father of Peter. I suggested the change in names as a possible explanation for not finding a Peter record. Have you tested your DNA?
