Ingrid,
I can make some guesses but none of them line-up with parishes/ townlands in Kerry. Do you have the name of the individual connected with this place or any additional info- age, when they came to America, where they lived, did they marry (to whom, when, and where), when did they die?
Regards- Mary
There is a townland named 'Inchee' in Kilgarvan , I wonder if that is it, looking at the writing it appears to start with an 'I' and ends in a double 'e', do you have the complete image or family name?
Thanks Mary and Eileen,
The name looks too long to be Inchee. Looks like it starts with an F and ands with bawn or ingham.
I am really on a wild goose chase. I am looking for a Patrick Donovan who probably emigrated to the States in 1907. I think he was from Cork, but found this and was trying to see if I could find a Patrick Donovan in the 1901 and 1911 censuses, but no luck. Was just hoping to find out the name of the town.
Thanks anyhow!
Best wishes

My first guess was Fermengham, but as I said I could not find anything with that name.
I belong to Ancestry and can research further if you can provide more info on Donovan.
Also, if you haven't, you can search Irishgenealogy (free). I would checkout church records. Irish Genealogy - Explore your Family History
Regards- Mary
Thanks Mary, I think I’d better do some more research before sending you on a wild goose chase as well.
Really appreciate your offer.

It's possible the townland in Kilgarvan is Mangerton, though the spelling on the shipping manifest is not exact. The word that looks like Birmingham does not apply to Patrick.
The last entry looks like Birmingham, England, and applies to the last person on the ship manifest, Sarah Donovan, wife of Patrick.
I hope this is helpful.
Patricia, this certainly is helpful. You are right. I didn’t look properly. I am still not sure that this is the right Patrick, but at least I can go forward with my research. I have just found a baptism record of Patrick in Mangerton.
Thanks!!!!!!

Ingrid, If you give us more info about Patrick, maybe we can be of help.
Thanks Patricia, but for now I would prefer doing the research myself. I’ve only just started and I am looking forward to getting my teeth into this new project.
