I am looking for descendants of Thomas and Catherine O'Connell, nee O'Connor, from Gortalea. Their daughter, Catherine born about 1860, migrated to New Zealand cir 1883. She had a sister, Norah, married to Maurice Flynn and on the 1901 census Norah and Maurice were living at Gortalea. There were other siblings whom we are unsure of. Would like to make contact with anyone connected to this family.
Cecilia
Hi Cecilia,
Thank you very much for your message. I hope that someone recognises the family and makes a connection with you.
In the meantime, have you considered posting a message in a more local forum such as a parish newsletter for example? Here is a link to the contact details of the parish priest if you would like to contact him to find out if this is possible:

Hi Catherine,
Have you done any DNA testing? I have relatives from this area and have seen those names in the parish records along with some of my father's Devane family.
