Anne Nee & John Hyland - Rosmuc 1880s / 1920s approx time

Rosmuc (Galway)

Hello,

I am trying to build a bit of a family tree.

My Grand Mother was born Mary Hyland approx.1916 around Rosmuck, She ended marrying and becoming Mary Kinahan,

Her father was John Hyland (my great grandfather) & Mother was Anne Nee (My great grand mother)

I don't know what year either were born or died.

Anne is buried in Kilbricken Cemetry.

I was curious to know what her parents names were also & the same with John.

& if there any relation to Patrick Nee, born in Rossmuc & emigrated as a child to Boston.

I found these Nee household heads in Rosmuck on the 1855 Griffith's Valuation — Anthony, Colman, Patrick, Thomas — does anyone know how these lines connect down to Anne or Patrick Nee?

In the 1901 Census there are a number of Nees living in Turlough. Ann and Patrick are probably connected but I would have to go further back to find the connection.

If you plan to do further research, parish registries and FamilySearch (both free) and RootsIreland and Ancestry (both paid subscriptions) will help in your research.

Rosmuck, Galway - Catholic Parish Registers at the NLI

Have you taken a DNA test? Maybe you will find a connection to Patrick.
