Michael Nolan/Mary Connelly

Galway

I'm looking for information on the Michael Nolan family of East Galway. Michael married Mary Connelly around 1850.  The family was first located residing in Ballynastaig (also shown as Balinastage and Balanstage) in the Catholic Parish of Gort. My great grandfather Martin Nolan (1850), his sister Mary Agnes Nolan (1853) and brother John Nolan (1857) all immigrated to the U.S., ending up in Arizona. 

 I've been unable to find out any information about Michael and Mary beyond the baptisms of these children.  If I were able to find any family connected to this family, I would plan a visit for 2026. I have been to other parts of Ireland but not Galway (other than a quick bus ride through it).  Thank you for any help.

 I found this info on Ancestry. Not always accurate. The Michael who died in 1869 was a widower.

To add to the Post by Mary, I attach details of Ballynatsaig, Civil Parish of Gort and Barony of Kiltartan.

There is also a Ballynastaig in the Civil Parish of Killeely, Barony of Dunkellin.

There is a Mary Nolan 46 years with two sons Michael 15 years John 14 years in the 1901 Irish Census.  They are also recorded in the 1911 census.

In the Gort area you have the Gregory museum. There are also photos of old buildings and  graveyard.
