Irish narrator needed.

Galway

Hello. I’m writing about my great great grandparents from Loughrea and I’m looking for someone to check my dialogue. I never heard them speak but want to honor their accents. Anyone interested in consulting with me?

Hi there - so you are looking to speak to some local's in East Galway to ascertain if the accents/way of speaking is accurate or not? Send us a paragraph or two of what you think might be accurate, and I'll see if we can get someone to critique the same. Who are your relatives? Maybe we could get a relative of yours in Loughrea to respond. They would be closer still one might think to how their own ancestors might have talked?

Best wishes,

Hi Kieran - So good to hear from you! My ancestors were the Grahams and they married a Dempsey and a Byrnes. In my narration I’m using these conventions:

tis, twas vs it is, it was

drop the “g” on “ing” endings

no contractions “cannot vs can’t

no short yes/no answers “I do vs yes”

no th sound “tink vs think”

No Mom and Dad “Mam and Da”

no um “em”

some use of Irish words

Does this make sense?
