Galway Jail - Prisoner 1590
Greetings from the USA! :-)
I've run into a brick wall with my maternal great-grandparents' personal history (I have the names of their children from census records). Ancestry.com sent me a hint on my maternal great-grandfather, Thomas Glynn. I'm not sure the record below is him and haven't been able to locate further info on genealogy websites. Going by what others have in their family tree regarding him (which may not be accurate), his parents are Michael Glynn and Mary Whelan. Do you know if a record from Galway Jail would contain more detailed info than what is below? I saw online that it would cost 15 Euros to order the record from the National Archives of Ireland. If you're familiar with these records and the info contained on one, I would appreciate knowing if it's worth ordering. And, if you know of a website that might prove useful in this search--that would be appreciated, too. I did subscribe to Roots Ireland for a month but had limited success in locating records of my ancestors.
Thank you for your time and God bless you,
Janet
