Baptisms for Monivea & Abbeyknockmoy circa 1842

Galway

Hi - I have traced part of my family tree back to my Irish roots, with ancestors coming from Monivea in county Galway.

One of my ancestors was recorded as being baptised in Abbeyknockmoy, county Galway in 1842.

Could any historian please advise where baptisms would likely have been conducted in and around Abbeyknockmoy for this date?

Any history relating to churches that would have conducted these at this time would be appreciated.

Thank you.

In the late 1830s/early 1840s there were 3 Catholic churches in the parish Union of Abbeyknockmoy - one at Abbey townland [A] which closed soon after 1840, a second at Rye Hill [B] (Ryehill townland) both of these in Abbeyknowmoy civil parish and a third at Caherlissakill townland [C] which is in Monivea civil parish. As far as I can tell there's just one Catholic church currently in the area, one at Caherlissakill townland.
