Hannan

Hi there,

Thank you very much for your query to Ireland Reaching Out. You should check the birth records in the General Register Office (GRO) for Patrick. The local parish priest for the area is another route you could try if you get stuck. You have a full name and a location, so this should narrow down the search.

You should also consider checking under the spelling 'Hannon', which is more common in Ireland.

Another suggestion would be to check the US army records. There is a good chance Patrick had to put in his details when he joined the army.

Also check the newspapers for information in his death notice. Sometimes other family members have more information you are not aware of, so exhaust these first!

Kind regards,

Sinead Cooney

Hello,

There are no Hannon's living in Killimor at the present time. I will check in the local graveyard and speak with local people, before getting back to you again. However, Hannon was the mother'sname, of a former woking collegue of mine, in nearby Portumna. I will make enquiries of him also.

I am a volunteer with the Killimor parish and looking forward to hearing from you,

regards,

Iomar Whelan
