Thanks for your reply Roger, do you know of anyone in Gort that would be willing to do some research on this for me?
Let me followup with our parish liaison in Gort.
Roger
Following because I have a Bridget Gegan in my tree, but born in the 1830s or 1840s, possibly in Beagh, which is where she lived later on and where she was married to Mark Melia/Malley/Mealy. Parents Patrick Geagan and Winifred Healy. I thought something of interest might show up here.
Roger do you know of any amateur genealogist that may be interested in looking at this for me? There is a long and very disturbing story behind this. Finding a descendant of this family is imperative to the care of an elderly vulnerable woman today. Only thing is...access to anything to do with the church records may prove difficult....
Dear Sbor71:
I will do my best to try to find out more information for you. Will you leave it with me for the next week and I will reply.
If you have anything further to share, you can email me at: jhalloranryan@irelandxo.com.
Kind regards,
Jane
Jane.. Thank you so much..
E mail sent with some more details
Dear Sbor71:
I had not received an email from you. You can send it to me at: jhalloranryan@irelandxo.com.
All the best,
Jane.
You should be able to learn whether Maggie married or died by looking in the civil registrations on irishgenealogy.ie. If she's not there, that suggests she moved away.
