Kate:
I searched on a number of sites (Roots Ireland/Tithe listings/Griffiths/1901 and 1911 censuses) and the surname Colberry/Calberry is basically non-existent. A possible variant would be Corberry or Carbury. There are many records with these surnames although not that many in Co. Galway.
The other constraint is that baptismal records for the RC parish of Clonfert (Eyrecourt) do not start until 1884.
Here is a link to the parish of Clonfert https://www.churchservices.tv/clonfert
If you have not done so already, you may want to consider a DNA test. Possibly you will get matches on this line that may have more information on Thomas and your ancestor line.

Kate,
Do you have a document or documents showing Eyrecourt as the birthpIace? Or is it a famiIy story that he was born there? Thanks.
Hi;
The town of Eyrecourt showed up on Ancestry.ca on another person's family tree - with no supporting documentation - that is what I am looking for now. I have recently resubmitted my DNA and am waiting for results. I'm going to try and find where he landed in Canada and when and see if I can back track from there. Thanks for your info - I will check it out.
Take care,
Kate
Hi Kate,
UnfortunateIy, Ancestry trees are weII known for not aIways being reIiabIe. With no documentation, the Eyrecourt information shouId be considered with suspicion, as you are doing.
