I am looking for information on Thomas Millett born in 1875 and baptised inAddergoole and Liskeevey per the Irish Catholic Parish Registers on18 Jan 1875 I am looking for more information on his parents Michael Patrick and Anne (Waldron). I am thinking that maybe people moved around in Ireland during those times like they moved around here in Illinois, so I am checking out other parishes as well. Thanks
Dear MaryB:
Many thanks for your query to Ireland Reaching Out and welcome!!
I have found the civil birth for Thomas Mellett (note the spelling) born 16 January 1875 in Milltown, Galway. His parents were:
Michael Patrick Mellett and Anne Waldron. He was baptised on the 18 January however no sponsors were noted. This information is available through Roots Ireland at www.rootsireland.ie. ;
The Civil Birth Record (also availalbe on Roots Ireland) lists his birth record as follows:
16 January 1875
Father is Patrick Mellett and Mother is Anne Waldron.
Informant is Patrick Mellett (father most likely). His occupation is listed as a labourer and the Civil Parish is listed as Dunmore.
I was unable to find a marriage record for them on the site, although you might check the catholic registers through the NLI.
Milltown is at: http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/1036.
Dunmore is at: http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/1061.
If you need further assistance, please let me know.
Kind regards,
Jane.
