Muldoon Thomas family

Fermanagh

I am researching my family tree and have Thomas Muldoon born about 1807 in Fermanagh.

He married Jane Campbell Born about 1815, in about 1833.

He and his family sailed to Australia on the Adam Lodge departing Londonderry 29.3.1837.

With them on the voyage were their four children, Daniel 7, Robert 4, Mary 2, Bridget a baby.

They arrived in Australia 13.7.1837.

This is as much as I know of Ireland.

Thank you

Hi David

The only record I could find for Thomas & Jane was on Family Search (free site) which you have provbably seen. It shows they had 9 children with the first in 1830.

Daniel Muldoon birth: 1830 death: 20 September 1906

Robert Muldoon birth: about 1833 death:

Mary Muldoon birth: about 1835 death: 19 July 1852

Bridget Muldoon birth: 1837 death: 15 March 1925

John Muldoon birth: 3 November 1839 death:

Jane Muldoon birth: 7 August 1841 death: Thomas Muldoon

birth: 2 June 1843 death: 1 October 1921

Anne Muldoon birth: 1 December 1844 death:

Ellen Rafferty birth: 13 September 1847 death:

Frances Muldoon birth: May 1849 death:

I had no luck on www.rootsireland.ie/

The Irish Censuses are free online www.census.nationalarchives.ie/and have 53 Muldoons in Fermanagh in the 1821 Census & 112 Campbells.

If you google PRONI (Public Records Office of Northern Ireland) and select name search enter Muldoon and Fermanagh you'll find 7 of the early Fermanagh Muldoons including a Thomas.

I'll leave you to google the Irish naming pattern to show how names were passed down.

rootsireland doesn't jave burial records for Fermanagh so I couldn't find Muldoons on that.

good evening, i have started to look into my family tree which my grand father started before passing, his "Muldoon" family was from fermanagh and have found his father, uncles and great grand fathers signitures on the ulster covenant.

ref Thomas Muldoon, i had an ancester from Fermanagh called Thomas Muldoon that married a Jane but have it that Thomas was born 1779

alot of the names Col has posted above fit in with my family tree but the birth dates are off and the Thomas would have been their grand father, their father being Andrew Muldoon, married to a suzanne Heatherington.

Would like to find out more from this side of the family and see if could find out more about them.

we belive there was another decedant called Elizabeth Catherine Muldoon who left Ireland and sailed to America but later died, her belongings were sent back to family members in Fermanagh but we know nothing of what happened to her etc

John Muldoon

Many thanks for your post and the updated information about Elizabeth Catherine Muldoon.  If you created an Ancestor Profile about one of the family (or as many of them as you like), that might assist your research.  These Ancestor profiles are read by all our members and often, there are others out there who are researching the same family.  To create a profile, please follow this link:  https://irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy/ancestor-database

If you have any questions, please email me directly.  Jhalloranryan@irelandxo.com.

The very best of luck with your research.

Kind regards,

Jane
